The Challenge
The family wanted the look of a hardwood floor in their bathroom but didn’t want to deal with wood rotting or warping from the moisture. They wanted a warm, modern feel that could actually handle being in a wet room.
The Craftsmanship
We picked out a high-quality wood-look porcelain tile that looks just like real oak. We laid it out with very thin, color-matched grout lines so it’s hard to tell it’s not actual wood. Underneath, we used a full moisture barrier and Durock cement board to give it a solid, waterproof base. Now the floor looks like timber but is as tough as stone.
The Result
The new look works perfectly. The wood-look floor adds a lot of warmth and looks great against the new, modern fixtures. By using the right materials and installing them correctly, we gave the family exactly what they wanted: the beauty of wood without any of the maintenance headaches.
