The Challenge
The most important part of a bathroom remodel is the part you never see. We had to make sure the walls and floor were perfectly level and waterproof before any tile went down. This is the only way to make sure the shower stays leak-free and the tile doesn’t crack down the road.
The Craftsmanship
We used Durock cement board to build a solid, rot-proof base for the shower. We don’t just screw the boards in; we tape and thin-set every joint and corner to make the whole thing waterproof. By getting the walls perfectly straight and square at this stage, the tile goes on much flatter and cleaner. This kind of prep work prevents the leaks and wood rot that ruin a lot of cheap renovations.
The Result
The tile might be what people see, but the prep work underneath is what makes the job last. The family can rest easy knowing their bathroom was built right from the inside out. This project shows how we focus on the structural side of things to support a great finish.
