The Challenge
An old stone chimney in Ridgewood was starting to fall apart. Years of weather had worn away the mortar, and some of the stones were starting to crack. This didn’t just look bad; it was also letting water into the house and making the whole chimney weak.
The Craftsmanship
We worked carefully to fix the chimney while keeping its original look. We ground out the old, crumbling mortar and replaced it with a new mix that matches the style but is built to last longer. We also found stones that matched the originals to replace the ones that were cracked. Every joint was finished by hand to make the chimney solid and watertight again.
The Result
The chimney looks fresh and is solid again. We kept the look of the home exactly the same while making the chimney much stronger against the wind and rain. It shows why it’s important to have the right skills when you’re working on old masonry.
