The Challenge
A building in Red Bank was having major issues with water leaking through the chimney. The old flashing was shot, and there was no cap on top to keep the rain out of the flue and the brickwork. If we didn’t fix it fast, the water was going to rot the roof and ruin the inside of the building.
The Craftsmanship
We completely redid the chimney’s water protection system. First, we ripped out the old, failing flashing and cleaned up the masonry. Then we made a custom-fit, heavy-duty metal cap and new flashing to steer water away from the chimney. We used high-quality sealants and strong fasteners to make sure everything stays watertight, even with the high winds and cold winters we get here in Jersey.
The Result
The new cap and flashing have stopped the leaks for good. By using solid metalwork on top of the existing masonry, we gave the building a long-term fix that protects the whole structure. It’s a good example of how we handle tough water-leak problems.
