The Challenge
Most screened porches are only useful during the day. Once the sun goes down, they become dark and hard to use. For this project in Central New Jersey, the owners wanted a bug-free outdoor space that worked just as well at night as it did during the day. We needed to build a solid structure that could house a full lighting system without having wires or fixtures cluttering the look of the porch.
The Craftsmanship
We used durable screening and high-quality wood to make the porch feel like a part of the house rather than just an attachment. The main focus was the custom lighting. We ran all the wiring inside the beams and rafters so it stayed hidden. We positioned the lights to provide good coverage for the whole space while keeping the atmosphere relaxed. Every cut in the framing was made to fit tightly, ensuring the porch stays bug-free and looks professional.
The Result
The finished porch is a comfortable place to sit during the day and a well-lit lounge at night. The lighting makes the space safer and more useful for the homeowners. By hiding the technical parts of the electrical work inside the structure, we kept the focus on the woodwork. This project gives the home a practical outdoor area that can be used well into the evening.
