The Challenge
Turning a big, empty basement into a living suite is about more than just throwing up some studs. We had to work around HVAC ducts, plumbing lines, and electrical wires while keeping the ceilings as high as possible and making sure every foot of floor space was usable.
The Craftsmanship
Getting the framing right is the most important part because it affects everything that comes after. We laid out the floor plan carefully, making sure every wall was straight and square. We built soffits to hide the pipes and vents without breaking up the look of the rooms. Using kiln-dried lumber and pressure-treated bottom plates, we built a solid frame for what will eventually be a home theater, gym, and guest rooms.
The Result
With the framing done, the raw concrete space now looks like a real set of rooms. This gives the drywallers and carpenters a clean, straight base to work on, which means the finish will stay solid for years. It’s the kind of behind-the-scenes work that makes for a better build in the end.
