The Challenge
Building a two-story deck requires careful planning to make sure the structure is safe and looks good. For this project, the family wanted separate outdoor spaces for the second-floor master bedroom and the ground-floor living room. We had to build a large, multi-level deck that felt open and modern while handling the weight and height of a two-story construction.
The Craftsmanship
We used heavy-duty wood beams and steel hardware to build a strong foundation for both levels. We kept the design simple with clean lines to give it a modern look, making sure every post was perfectly straight. We used high-quality decking and modern railings to keep the views open from the top floor while creating a shaded area underneath. We also planned the stairs carefully so it’s easy to get from the house to either level of the deck.
The Result
The finished two-story deck adds two new ways to enjoy the backyard. The top level is a sunny spot with great views, and the bottom level stays cool and shaded for hot afternoons. It’s a solid, well-built structure that gives the homeowners a lot more useful space on both floors of their house.
